Sarah - Week 4 - Florida whether is not a great as people say it is.

     Many people say that Florida's weather is great because it is sunny, happy, and never cold. However, in my opinion, there is such a thing as too much sun. I don't understand how anyone could enjoy the pain your eyes feel going from a neutral room to the bright outdoors. Sun also isn't necessarily good for you. Its main health benefits are that it can boost your mood and provide you with vitamin D. However, its negative health effects include damage to your skin, eyes, and immune system. Excessive skin damage from the sun can even cause skin cancer.

    Another reason why I don't like Florida's weather is because it only has two seasons. It is either hurricane season, or it is extra hot. Plus, you don't get to experience the beautiful colors of the trees changing in fall or the gorgeous scenery of a white winter. A few Floridians have never even seen snow before. This is crazy to me since playing in the snow with my brothers was one of my favorite things as a kid. 

    Florida is also so rainy. People say that they like the weather since it is sunny and cheery all year round, but anyone who has lived in Florida for over a month can tell you that it rains practically every day, so that isn't really a valid point. Plus, when it is sunny out, it's way too hot to be doing the activities that people think come with this weather.

    As someone who (like everyone else here,) lives in Florida, I can confirm the weather is not that great. The majority of the year, it's simply too hot to go outside for any length of time. Recently, I got heat exhaustion simply from being outside for a few hours. This is without mentioning, as you said, hurricane season, which is at least a few weeks of stress where you need to plan around every worst case scenario, like electricity, food, and water. So overall, I definitely agree Florida weather is not all it's made out to be.

    I have lived in Florida my whole life and I think the weather here isn't that great. Honestly, most people who live in Florida, from what I've heard, don't like the weather here due to the storms and heat which I definitely agree with!

Zander 5: Why Do We Care About Remakes?

  A pattern I’ve begun to notice recently is that many of the most popular video games and movies often tend to be remakes of old pieces of media. While the most obvious examples of this would be the remakes of old Disney movies that have been released over the past several years, there are many more examples of this. For example, one of the most popular games this year was the remake of Resident Evil 4, and one of the most anticipated upcoming releases is the remake of Persona 3. So why is this, and what is the interest of playing a game you’ve already played, or watching a movie you’ve already seen?
