Why Dogs Are Better Than Cats - Yael Fishman

Why Dogs Are Better Than Cats:

Dogs are undeniably better than cats. Cats are adorable; however, compared to dogs, they lack many exceptional qualities. Dogs are loyal; they offer the reassuring feeling that they will protect you no matter what the cost. Cats may show affection when they are trying to get food or a belly rub; nevertheless, after they receive what they desire, they will go back to their independent ways. Dogs are devoted to their owners; you will not second-guess a dog's trust as you might with a cat. Also, having a dog opens the doors to new beneficial possibilities. Dogs can encourage physical activity through a need for daily walks, and dogs are easier to train and enhance. I've noticed a drastic difference between having a cat as a pet and having a dog as a pet. I have a friend who has a cat, and whenever I visit her house, her cat is always hidden somewhere, never seen. I notice how quiet it is to have a cat, especially one that is unsociable. I don't understand the point of having a pet that you rarely get to interact with, and when you do, it's very minimal because cats tend to be very reserved. However, when I visit my friend, who has a dog, it is a lot different. As soon as I entered the house, the dog approached me with excitement and joy. An embrace of warmth and happiness is not typically what you receive from a cat. My friend's dog always sat by us and paid attention to both of us equally. Cats usually have favorites, and they pay no mind to who they like the least. To conclude, the phrase "a dog is a man's best friend" isn't cliche; it's just the blunt truth.

  1. I've always been unable to pick between cats and dogs especially as the owner of a cat that acts like a dog, but your opinion definitely helped me see how dogs can be seen as the better pet. I still love them equally though! ^-^

  2. While I do understand several of your points, I disagree with the overall point. While I often find myself growing closer to individual dogs than I do individual cats, I find cats as a species cuter and funnier than dogs. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, though!

  3. While you make many good points, I think of dogs and cats more as equals. I find that cats have their own strengths, and so do dogs. It really just depends on the owner’s personality.
