Ayden Kryshka Week 4: Spider-Man 2, What to expect.

With the release date of October 20th soon approaching, here’s the rundown of what to expect with the biggest spider man game since Spider-Man ps4 5 years ago.

No for the main villain of a game its no another than Venom returning to the games for the first time since 2014. In this spider-man the main villain is going to be venom. With the last game having a strong emphasis on the psychodynamics of the main villain, people are looking forward to this approach to venom. Speaking of approaches this one is bringing a new one of venom, typically he is an alien from space, but in this game venom looks to be an Oscorp experiment.

Mechanics. This will be the 1st Spider-Man game where you can actively switch between spider men. Meaning you can choose any spider to play as for any mission, and this will be “near instant”. Along with adding more mechanics such as web-gliding and slingshotting, the swinging will also be much more fluid and faster than that of previous generations. There will also be more space to explore these mechanics with the map now being double the size and including the boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn, alongside manhattan island. The fast travel will now be instantaneous with no loading screen compared to previous generations in which you were waiting anywhere from 10-25 seconds to fast travel

So with all of the improvements in this Spider-Man compared to that of previous games, what do you think is it worth the buy?

  1. I definitely think it is worth buying, I have always loved the spiderman movies and comics, along with the video games made around it. I used to play a spiderman game on the leapfrog everyday when I was younger. I am looking forward to buying this and trying out the new mechanics and the larger map. Also, I did not know about Venom being an Oscorp experiment, so that will definitely be interesting to explore.

  2. I personally have very little interest in superhero video games (mostly because of lack of access, since I don't have a PlayStation), but I have friends who were looking forward to its release. Based on your evaluation, I would say it is a hard yes; Spiderman-2 sounds like a very immersive and enjoyable to play video game.
