Hanukkah is The Best Jewish Holiday
There are many Jewish holidays, and they're all significant. However, which one is the best? The answer is quite simple; it's Hanukkah. Hanukkah is a happy holiday where Jewish people from all around the world celebrate and pay tribute to the rededication of the Second Temple. You light candles during Hanukkah for each day of the festival. Hanukkah is the best Jewish holiday because it brings together families, has fun traditions and has delicious food. Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days, and during this period, families come together and even go to the extent of flying across the globe to unite. Spending time with your family is priceless; therefore, Hanukkah gives you a great opportunity to spend time with your loved ones for a wonderful celebration. Fun traditions are one of the main qualities of Hanukkah. Lighting the menorah, gift-giving, playing dreidel, gelt, blessing, and other traditions are what make Hanukkah very memorable. You essentially get to give and receive gifts, play fun games with family, and enjoy the festive songs. These traditions are incredibly fun, and regardless of your age, everyone can join in and celebrate the great festival of Hanukkah. Another reason why Hanukkah is the best Jewish holiday is the delicious food. A typical Hanukkah dinner will include latkes, challah, sufganiyot, Hanukkah brisket, kugel, and many other delicious fried or baked foods. In essence, Hanukkah is the best Jewish holiday because it is extremely enjoyable and provides all the best qualities of a complete holiday. Do you agree? If not, why?
I love Chanukkah and I agree with many of the points you make about it being the best Jewish holiday. I always enjoy the food, ceremonies, and gifts, but the only thing I dislike is the amount of money I spend each year. Yes, I am getting gifts from my family, but every year I spend at least $150 on gifts for others and it takes me forever to earn to earn it back considering I don't have a job.
ReplyDeleteI think that Hannukah is a great Jewish holiday but I do not think that it is the best. To start off, it is not even in the Torah so its significance is not that great. As well, I think that most families gather for other holidays such as passover or rosh hashana more than they meet up for hannukah. Lastly, the food, games, and celebrations are part of mostly every Jewish holiday which makes hannukah not the greatest.
