Jason's Week 5: The Gym
Working out is one of my favorite things to do in my free time. I love the effect it has in me. It helps me physically and mentally. It has become a fundamental part of my life and I think is should be a part of everyone's lives. I have been working out for a couple years and I workout six times a week. It helps with weight management, muscle growth, reduces health risk, strengthens your bones and muscles, and boosts endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine. The most apparent and immediate benefit of going to the gym is the physical transformation. It helps you build muscle, lose fat, and feel better about yourself. But, the endorphins released make you feel good and reduce your stress levels. I also enjoy working out because a good workout is the perfect medicine for stress, anxiety, or a bad day. I also just love blasting my music while lifting weights for two hours.
I've learned that the gym can build you a community of like minded people who have similar goals and lifestyles to you. It doesn't matter if they're much more or less experienced than you because everyone is in there for the same reason, to improve themselves. Plus, the benefits that come with working out are a gain in confidence and feeling better about your appearance. Lastly, in a sense, working out is a way to sculpt and build your body over many years. It is also fun trying to achieve higher PRs and being able to measure your strength and muscle increase overtime.
I also love working out. I usually lift for an hour a day Monday through Saturday and I go on runs each day except Friday. I agree that it helps me feel better about myself physically and it helps my mental health a lot. I also always enjoy the gym community. There have been several times that I was not able to lift a weight and a stranger would come and help because everyone at the gym is there to support everyone else. I also believe that it should be a priority for everyone because it helps their overall well being so much.
