Jonas's Week 9: Josh Allen is Overrated.

 

NFL fans will always debate who the top dawgs at the Quarterback position is. For the past few years, that conversation has been a mix of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, and Josh Allen. One of those signal callers, however, clearly doesn't belong. That player is Josh Allen.

Josh Allen is a turnover machine. Since entering the league, Josh Allen has the most turnovers by a Quarterback by far: 95 total and counting. For comparison, Aaron Rodgers has 114 total turnovers in his entire career; his career is 18 years long, and counting. Allen also has failed to meet playoff expectations repeatedly. For the past 2-3 years specifically, the Bills have been hyped up all season and projected by a majority to win the Superbowl, just for Allen and his superteam to fall short in the divisional and conference championship rounds. For comparison, Joe Burrow, drafted in 2020 with the first overall pick, has already been to 1 Superbowl and 2 AFC championship games. Jalen Hurts has also managed to lead his team into the Superbowl once since being drafted in 2020. Josh Allen on the other hand has not made it to the “promised land” once since his entry into the league in 2018.                     Overall, Josh Allen’s career has been one of being completely overhyped. Allen has seen little to no success in games that actually matter - postseason games. Allen has also only been consistent in being inconsistent. He throws risky passes and cannot hold onto the ball like his truly elite counterparts across the league can. Now, Allen and the Bills sit at 5-5, outside of the playoff seeding projections, and have freshly fired their Offensive Coordinator, Ken Dorsey, as a scapegoat for Allen’s abysmal play. Do you think Josh Allen could bounce back in the coming years? Will he ever be the players he is hyped up to be?

      In the 21st century, there's a game for everyone. From shooting games to simple farming simulators it's almost impossible to not find a video game that interests you. One category of video games that I think is disliked by many for the wrong reasons is visual novel games. These games largely consist of dialogue and are often slow-paced and more relaxing compared to other genres. Visual novel games focus more on the story and characters rather than things like puzzles or combat.       The most common argument that I've heard against these games is that they're the same as a regular visual novel and have little to no actual gameplay in them. From my personal experience playing games in this genre, this is true for many visual novel games. I have played games that almost entirely consist of dialogue with a few choices that determine which ending you get. Zander 5: Why Do We Care About Remakes?

  A pattern I’ve begun to notice recently is that many of the most popular video games and movies often tend to be remakes of old pieces of media. While the most obvious examples of this would be the remakes of old Disney movies that have been released over the past several years, there are many more examples of this. For example, one of the most popular games this year was the remake of Resident Evil 4, and one of the most anticipated upcoming releases is the remake of Persona 3. So why is this, and what is the interest of playing a game you’ve already played, or watching a movie you’ve already seen? Well, firstly, there’s the appeal to those who never played or watched the previous piece of media. The appeal to this group is obvious, as to them, it’s new content. Even if one already knows the plot and twists of a story, experiencing it first hand can still be entertaining.
